Trans-Network project: “Heterogeneity of Cytoskeletal Architecture as an Indicator of Treatment Response” (USC, Scripps, Cornell, and Moffitt PS-OCs) was recommended for funding
Dear Colleagues,
Yesterday the PS-OC Steering Committee voted to accept the recommendations of the Trans-Network Evaluation Panel. Based on scores and discussion, the Panel grouped the proposals into three categories: Recommended for Funding; Request Additional Information; and Not Recommended for Funding.
The Panel recommended funding the following three proposals:
“Emergence of Therapy Resistance in Multiple Myeloma:  The Roles of Genomic and Microenvironmental Heterogeneity” (Princeton and Moffitt PS-OCs)
“Heterogeneity of Cytoskeletal Architecture as an Indicator of Treatment Response” (USC, Scripps, Cornell, and Moffitt PS-OCs)
“In Vivo Analysis of Cell Cycle Progression Heterogeneity during Intestinal Tumorigenesis” (MIT and TMHRI PS-OCs)
The Panel is requesting additional information in order to make a final funding recommendation for the following two proposals:
“Analysis of Heterogeneity in Signaling networks during T Cell Leukemogenesis” (MIT, USC, and DFCI PS-OCs)
“Epigenetic Heterogeneity and Evolution in Leukemia” (Northwestern, Cornell, and DFCI PS-OCs)
We would like congratulate those selected for funding and to thank everyone who participated in the proposal process.  From generating ideas and proposals to commenting on proposals to reviewing proposals, the Trans-Network program cannot be successful without significant participation from the PS-OC Community. We also want to emphasize that the Panel was very enthusiastic about the biology side of the proposals and the questions being asked. However, they set a very high bar for the integration of physical sciences perspectives. The Panel felt that many of these proposals would do well in other funding opportunities, so please consider submitting versions of these proposals to opportunities at NCI, NIH, other agencies, or foundations.
Thanks again for your participation and please feel free to email me with questions, concerns, or recommendations.
